It is never too late to get the smile you deserve! Whether you need dental restoration, bite correction, a comprehensive treatment or a tune-up, Walker Orthodontics is here for you during this perfect time to invest in your smile.
A new smile at any age!
Contrary to popular belief, tooth alignment can be altered at any age, even if your gums and teeth are not as perfect as they once were.
Improve your health and confidence
Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically enhance the health of your teeth and gums while improving your personal appearance and self-esteem. A study by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry concluded that 99.7% of Americans believe that a beautiful smile is essential to success in work and in life. It has a dramatic influence on creating lasting impressions, impacting one’s ability to secure coveted job interviews, career positions, relationships, and ultimately determine whether they’re perceived as likeable and/or attractive. In a similar vein, a study by the Crest Foundation reported that people with straight teeth are viewed as happy, healthy, trustworthy, professional and component. While beauty is only skin-deep, we believe that when a person feels confident in their smile, it translates to lifelong success.
From an orthodontic perspective, crooked teeth and a bad bite can have serious ramifications, contributing to gum recession and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches, and jaw joint (TMJ/TMD) pain.
Why should you consider orthodontic treatment as an adult?
Straight teeth are healthy teeth
Teeth that are properly aligned are easier to keep clean by brushing and flossing, which may prevent subsequent health problems.
Mouths left untreated may deteriorate with time
Untreated orthodontic issues can fuel a larger, more complex and expensive problem in the future.
A beautiful smile builds confidence
Your smile is the first thing many people notice about you. Orthodontic treatment can boost your self-confidence and improve your quality of life.
A large percentage of our patients are adults. It’s never too late to get a healthy, beautiful smile that will change your life.

Comprehensive treatment with tooth alignment and bite correction
We leverage clear aligners (Invisalign®), metal or translucent braces to realign and correct your teeth in 12-24 months (depending on the complexity of your case).
If you had orthodontic treatment in the past but lost a retainer and your teeth have shifted back, we use braces or Invisalign to re-treat and re-align your teeth.
If you have a missing or fractured tooth, we can help move your teeth with orthodontics to eliminate crowding and ensure there is enough space for the tooth to be replaced with implants or restored with veneers or crowns. This step ultimately preps your teeth so that they’re ready for the dentist to replace or restore them more perfectly.
If needed, corrective jaw surgery (also known as orthognathic surgery) can be used to correct a wide variety of skeletal irregularities that impact proper bite alignment. Jaw surgery is sometimes recommended to correct large open bites, jaws that grew at different rates, jaws that are positioned too far forward or too far back, a narrow upper jaw, and/or severe sleep disordered breathing like sleep apnea. If we determine that your situation requires comprehensive orthodontic treatment in conjunction with jaw surgery, our team will leverage orthodontic treatments (such as braces or Invisalign) to align your teeth. To correct your bite, we’ll work closely with an oral surgeon to realign your jaw, adjust your bite, and set you on path to your perfect smile.
